Article from fall "League Letter" There will not be a fall "League Letter".
Those attending the 21st Biennial Mid-South District LWML Convention were definitely filled with Spring Fed-Living Water. The Bible Studies presented by our Pastoral Counselors, Jan Brunette's keynote address, worship services, singing praises to Him and all the emotions throughout the convention assured each one of us of the Eternal Life only He can give.
With the excitement of convention and all the details involved there are several announcements that I failed to write down. so therefore, I forgot to make them. Please note the following:
- Did you notice the lady with the "One minute" sign? A Big Thank You to Diane Reimold, West Tennessee Zone President.
- Congratulations to Sharon Rapp, Mid-Arkansas Zone President. She is serving on the national LWML "Heart to Heart Sisters" Task Force.
- Praise to the Lord for the completion of the Asian trip that had to be postponed in 2009 due to the "swine flu" in Asian countries. This was a 2008-2010 Mission Grant project for Peace Lutheran Church of Conway, AR. In May of this year they traveled to Hong Kong, where they made a lasting bond with a high school there. I understand they are staying in touch with some of the students, continuing to reach out with the love of the Risen Savior.
Please remember those serving on your district board in your prayers. The Lord equips those that He calls. Have you heard His call? Will you step out in faith and answer His call? I know, first hand, how He gives the Holy Spirit power over you.
"Peace in the Valley" is the chosen theme for convention 2012. John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled..." Begin now making plans to come to Knoxville, TN. June 8th - 10th, 2012.
Together In His Name
Henrietta Gordon, President
Mid-South District LWML
