FINANCIAL REPORT
The message of Eternal Life † Spring Fed brought comfort, hope, healing, and praise to the ladies attending the Mid-South Biennial Convention in Hot Springs, at the historic Arlington Resort Hotel and Spa. From the Communion Worship on Friday evening to the Closing Service on Sunday morning, everyone was reminded of their Baptism, the life giving water of the Word, and the promise that the Lord will continue to shower us with his blessings.
Chairmen Linda Thompson and Linda Rosinbaum, along with District President Henrietta Gordon, provided the leadership and support that made the Convention a big success. Many committee chairmen and their helpers worked diligently the past two years and were rewarded with the satisfaction that everyone was enriched through the Servant Events, Interest Sessions, worship services and special music.
A Convention would not be complete without plenty of opportunities for laughter! LWML member Terry Bledsoe, Pastor Neugebauer, and others provided the levity that draws people together as a group! The ladies also enjoyed the displays from Thrivent, Concordia, and other groups, some of which provided shopping opportunities!
The delegates did their share, also, as they voted to determine grant recipients to receive a total of $90,000! They elected new officers for the next biennium. May the Lord bless these new officers with wisdom as they make decisions, as well as peace and joy in their labors.
The Gifts of the Heart donations were exceptional and brought joy to Basket of Hope and Project Hope. The three offerings totaled $6,460.30, and were distributed between Lutheran Camp on Petit Jean, Trinity Hope, Inc. Haiti, Project Hope in Hot Springs, and the Mid-South District LWML Mission Goals. Praise the Lord!
Plan ahead! The National Convention will be held on June 23-26, 2011 in Peoria, Illinois, Illinois. The 2012 Biennial Convention Will be held in Knoxville, TN on June 8 - 10, hosted by the East Tennessee Zone.
